16.04 Screen Resolution Question

Hello, my name is Rick.
I have a laptop that is a HP Pavilion DV9700.
The resolution maxes out at 1024 x 768 with the Nvidia legacy driver.
I am running 16.04 Alpha 1 64 bit.
What can I do to get a higher resolution?
I believe that openGL is not installed.
Sorry, I posted in the wrong section.

Last night at 00:00 hrs and 2/11/2016, I did an update and that fixed it. I got openGL and other install. There are two monitors that work at native resolution.

i believe that you can change resolution at Control Center —> Display

Thanks, last nights update did the trick. It gave me the software I needed.

Just for future reference for anyone else reading this thread:

I did that at first. I installed the Legacy Drivers from Nvidia. It did not work right until later updates.
Thanks. My system is working fine. It is slow because of being a dual core laptop.

same here . I’ve got 8GB RAM but G2030 intel processor. so sometimes i feel slowness. but nothing compared to bloody windows. lol

I wish I could get a Gaming Laptop , the one with a Graphics Amplifier, and get rid of the rest of my hardware.

i more likely to have business classy UBUNTU Laptop (DELL or ASUS)

System76 had a laptop that went to 32 GB and was about $3500.00 US. It may have higher specs by now. I like the idea of discrete graphics in laptops and All-in-one desktops.
