I did a “live Cd” try of 16.04 Beta 1 this week and am very impressed. Congratulations to the project team on a wonderful release. Everything works and it is so thoughtfully and carefully designed that even someone completely new to Linux will have no problem navigating this. My question is if I go ahead and install will I be able to upgrade to the official release on April 23rd?
Yes, just keep installing updates.
You would be better off doing a full clean install using the “Something Else Method” rather than just updating:

A clean install can’t hurt. But the question was “will I be able to upgrade to the official release [from beta 1]?”
