Hello. I’m wanting to upgrade from UM 16.04 LTS to 16.10. Are there configuration and settings files that I can save on a thumbdrive or whatever so that I don’t have to reconfigure everything I’ve done so far? Thanks.
During a upgrade Mate will attempt to keep all configurations. Most of this info is stored in your Home directory. Its a good idea to have a backup, upgrades can go wrong. Look at your hidden files in Home, one that contains a lot of your configurations is /.config
