Ubuntu software store

Guys help a brother out, I installed the Ubuntu Mate on my pc next thing i open the app store to install more software. The app store does not display the softwares I did not install as it does during the CD live session instead it display default installed software. I tried to download using the terminal… sudo apt install vlc and sudo apt-get install vlc, after entering my password it display -

when I try the Ubuntu app center to download from there it writes

  • could not find package ‘libvlccore2’.
    HELP HELP HELP

Have you updated and upgraded your system?

Hi @zambrottar,

VLC is installed by default so there is no need to try and install it!.

Have you looked at your Software & Updates > Other Software and ticked the “Canonical Partners” boxes?, see the update guide link posted by @anon42388993 above :

I uninstalled it, when i was tried to install Wine, but the wine failed… thanks I will try reinstalling the OS
