18.04 mate-tweak core dump

This is the error I get executing mate-weak:
$ /usr/bin/mate-tweak

(mate-tweak:1671): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema ‘org.mate.hud’ does not contain a key named ‘enabled’
Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)
Checking with dconf-editor, org.mate.hud does not exist.

Thanks for spotting that, I’ve raised it upstream. Presumably it’s because the HUD is installed but the schemas are not.

It requires an, as yet, unreleased version of mate-hud. We are pre-alpha and right now I’m shuffling a fair but about :grinning:

lah7 thanks! It appeared similar to a 17.10 mate-tweak core dump, but noticed a fix release. I was going to wait to see if anyone else had the issue, then file bug-report.

I’ve released a fixed version of the package and wrapped a number of schema queries with some tests that schema and keys exist. Should prevent this kind of issue on non-Ubuntu.

Generally there is a lot of churn in 18.04 right now. It will be worth it in the end, but if you’re running 18.04 I’m sorry for the bumpy ride the last few days. This should all come to a rest in the next day or so :slight_smile:
