Was no issue on 17.10

read this … https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2384959

Thanks, what a pain in the…

sadly, did not work, may have to roll back to 17.10, as need to connect to Winbloze

you can connect to win systems, just the caja browse network does not play nice.

From caja, smb://winsystem/share … that should work
or
sudo mount -t cifs -o user=aaa,password=bbb //winsystem/share /here

That works, just added bookmarks for ease of use. Not as clean an option as 17.10, may confuse a few newcomers.

What is the benefit of the second option?

Thanks again

Glad it works. No benefit, just a cli option if you dont have caja.

Pavlos,
Although it technically works, it does not work well. Lots of issues with the rates folders open on network, some fast, some real slow, desktop locking up, etc. etc.
Having same issues with Xubuntu 18.04 also, so whatever changed between 17.10 & 18.04 not good for streaming from Win boxes, real problem for me…

I dont want to see Windows network anymore :monkey:
