amdgpu-pro 17.50 not compatible with mate bionic?

I just installed the amdgpu-pro 17,50 drivers but system didnt boot anymore after that.
Got blinking black screen…

Had to go in recovery modus to force uninstall the amd drivers…

any fix for this to install amd gpu drivers?

Nop . It’s NOT compatible with 18.04 and 17.10. The close source drivers works only with lts’s release in this case 16.04.x

I guess you mean not compatible.

Anyway, yeah, the only officially supported version according to AMD’s website is 16.04. If they release a version compatible with 18.04, it’ll likely be after it’s officially available.

Besides, I think AMD recently announced it would contribute to Mesa (or maybe I’m confusing with the Vulkan part only?). Don’t expect a bright future for AMDGPU-PRO, it’ll probably be dropped at some point like Catalyst has been.
