Do you use any special kernel parameter to improve the hardware support or do you leave everything default?
Thanks!

I use a T510i. Here are the specs.
Kernel: Linux 4.13.0-11-generic x86_64
Distro: Ubuntu Artful Aardvark (development branch)
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 520 @ 2.40GHz
4 cores/threads
2400.00 MHz
RAM: 3.65 GiB
GPU: Mesa DRI Intel(R) Ironlake Mobile
OpenGL 2.1 Mesa 17.2.1
GLSL 1.20
I leave the kernel parameters default.
I did use a tweak to get the mic button mute / unmute working.
You can find how to do that here:
And I used “Configure Trackpoint”.

@PizzaDude, thanks a lot!
@orschiro
I haven’t seen that bug, but hopefully it gets included at some point, so I have less things I need to do if I re-install some day.
Regarding the brightness, it seems to jump as well. I didn’t notice it before.
The acpi_backlight=none parameter mentioned in that github issue seems to have solved it. Thanks for mentioning it! I wouldn’t have noticed if it weren’t for you doing that.
Glad it was useful! Regarding the mic button, this is also due to a lack of support in MATE itself, correct?
