Just found and installed autokey-gtk. It runs, but it won’t insert my text. It will do :some: things - for example, it’ll remove the abbreviation - but it won’t insert the text it’s supposed to insert.
Do I have the wrong version? Does anyone else use it?

Although that video is basically “how do you use it” and I knew how to use it.
It turns out that unicode breaks AutoKey. And since that was my only reason for wanting it, I’ve ditched it.
