Calendar/Contact app suggestions, please

The final part of my full migration to Linux requires the replacement of Palm Desktop/Companionlink syncing with my Android phone. I would gladly accept any suggestions that don’t require the use of commercial cloud services (e.g. Google) although I wouldn’t be totally averse to setting up a private cloud of my own, if necessary.

I have 20+ years of accumulated data that I’d really hate to lose/recreate.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

are you meaining just syncing between your phone and computer, or a cloud to sync your phone to

if you want your contacts synced you could use gnome contacts through Gnome online account and a google account, but I don’t think that is what you are looking for

@Bernie

You’re right. Maybe I’m just getting paranoid in my old age but I really don’t want Big Brother’s nose in my business. I really just want to sync between my phone and desktop – something that used to be easy and fairly common.

God, I really miss my old Palm Pilot sometimes.

kde connect maybe able to do something like that, also if you always have an internet connection I have used airdroid to use my phone from my laptop

I suppose I could switch to Evolution (if it will import the Palm data) and sync with KDE connect or whatever the GTK version of it is.

Guess it’s time to fire up a VM and experiment.
