Can't find Samson BT4 Bluetooth speakers in Ubuntu MATE 16.04 device list

Undo blacklisting first!.

Did you read this from ChrisW?:

As a test, boot from the live CD with the speakers connected and see if that work, it may be a case of because you had the USB plug in the wrong socket that it locked onto it?.

The command is already in my 99-local-bluetooth.rules file. I also tried booting from the live CD. No luck.

Hi @globetrotterdk,

have you considered trying 16.10 and see if that picks it up?.

Done. No difference :frowning: Extremely strange.

Sorry but I am out of ideas, it doesn’t help that I have any Bluetooth speakers to work with either!.

I just solved this issue. As I suspected, it was the Belkin Bluetooth dongle that was giving me problems. I got my hands on a Chinese no-name dongle and was able to connect immediately. Very weird as both are Bluetooth v. 4 dongles and I made no changes to the system. I guess the conclusion is that Ubuntu/GNU Linux does not support all USB devices, or at least not equally. A bit irritating that I had to purchase three different dongles and work on this off and on for over a year to finally get it to work. Anyway, thanks for all of your help and patience wolfman!
