Can't resize Windows once I "snap" them into place

I want to start off by thanking wimpy and the rest of the mate team for such a great distribution.

Question.
My workflow works best with 2 chrome browsers side by side each taking up half of the monitor.
When i “snap” each chrome browser into place i am unable to resize the window.

definition of “snap”: move a program window all the the left or right and the program resizes to take half the screen.

In windows i normally snap each chrome browser into the place and then i overlap each browser by increaseing the width of each browser.

For some reason i cant seem to make any size adjustments when the windows are snapped into place on Ubuntu mate 16.04.3
I dont know if this is a bug or intended just wanted to see what other people had to say.

Thanks in Advance.

I think it's a limitation of the way the window manager does "snapping".

Assume you are using marco, you could submit a bug report/feature request at their bug tracker: Issues · mate-desktop/marco · GitHub

This is actually a know issue in marco:

There is an attempt at fixing it, but seems to break other things.

If it’s a deal breaker, you could switch to Compiz (which is another window manager) in MATE Tweak , This one also supports snapping and doesn’t have this bug.

Thank you for the replies and suggestion to use compiz instead of Marco I didn’t know that was an option… and I guess I’ll just wait for a fix in Marco to switch back while I use compiz

@Eddie55 - Your wait is over:

Well, I guess you still need to wait for the next release of marco to make it into the Ubuntu repos :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
