Corefonts installer message

Hi all,

is anyone else getting this message?:

When I open Synaptic I get the following and as you can see, it is already there, when I click on "Run this action now", it doesn't do anything?. It isn't a problem as I just close it anyway! (The app "ttf-mscorefonts-installer" is the frontend for the corefonts downloader!):

Hi wolfman

I don’t even show that package as installed.

Hi @wolfman,

No, all is normal with my entire family’s ttf-mscorefonts-installer; and we do all have that package installed. If it doesn’t correct itself, you would tell me to reinstall that package… correct?

Please let me know if that package is misbehaving; for we (two of us), as college students, rely on our ttf-mscorefonts big time! :boy:

I have just this minute re-installed the package and now it has actually downloaded something (installed the fonts), so I will have to wait and see if the problem is solved, like I said before, it isn’t a problem for me.

Hmmmm!, I just got this message:

Hi @wolfman, I’m assuming that this doesnt have anything to do with signing the requisite MS licensing agreement which a lot of folks don’t see (or remember) to toggle… :construction_worker:

Hi @mated,

no!, I did agree to the license agreement!:

I always say yes so that shouldn’t be a problem, a good thought though!.

The installer actually downloads .exe files from sourceforge. It seems to be so that these files cannot be downloaded at that moment.

I have it on both of my PC’s and it is only happening on my HP rig?.

Since I re-installed and did a couple of new starts, it seems to have stopped now!. I will mark this as solved anyway and if it pops up again, shoot the on-screen message!.

The MS fonts are not really a biggy for me, they auto install with my apps meta-command list!.

I had that too one time, it worked perfectly on my desktop but got the error on my laptop. When I tried to download the .exe files from Sourceforge I got an 404-error message.

It popped up again a few minutes ago, tried to download for a few seconds and then gave up the ghost!. I am not worried about it, it isn’t important for me but as @mated pointed out, it is for he and his wife!. I have a sneaky suspicion that it has something to do with Germlins in my system but I’ve yet to prove this theory!.

I think I will just remove it and then it is “problem solved” for me!.
