Crazy Search Bars with Shopping Links

Hey guys, I’m doing a Re-install for a customer of mine. He has these Crazy Search Bars with Shopping Links in Chromium. I was wondering if they are from UM bundled with Chromium, or is it something he Added, if so I will need to figure out how to Copy the Config file or something.

What’s confusing is, it seems as though he has two instances of Chromium. It looks like someone else did a re-install for him and copied the config file over from Ubuntu 14.04 trusty, therefore he has two now. The current install is 15.04 Vivid.

I should have looked at how to post a Screenshot so folks can see the madness lol.

I will provide a Direct Link in hopes it will be good enough.

Definitely something they (were tricked into) adding. The first place I’d look is Chromium’s extensions page. Disable or delete all of them. You may need to reset Chrome’s search engine setting and homepage as well afterwards.

Thanks so much elcste, I finally figured this out, yes Extensions. Took a screenshot if they want to re-add them. Really! thanks for the support.

This thing is a mess, three installs later and there are old config files from even Windows 7! Took me hours sifting through all the old files.
