Desktop Notification Theme

Where does Mate store the theme files for desktop notifications? If I go to the control panel and select the desktop notification option, it shows that there was several different themes, but I can't seem to find where those files are stored.

I want to modify an existing theme to match the color scheme my desktop is using, because the current theme options look out of place at the moment. Any help toward achieving this goal is greatly appreciated.

I'm afraid, it is not so simple task.

You have to edit source code.

After doing a little research I am wondering if it would be possible to perform the following steps to modify an existing theme with the colors I would like to use:

• Create a test environment in VirtualBox
• Clone https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-notification-daemon.git
• Modify the "fill_background" function from https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-notification-daemon/blob/master/src/themes/coco/coco-theme.c with the RBGA values I would like to use
• Modify the "get_theme_info" function with a new theme name
• Modify the makefile to reflect the source file of the modified theme and any other relevant information
• Compile the new theme

Would this process produce a shared-object file that I could just copy over to my actual system in the directory you mentioned in your previous post?
