Display scaling resets after each restart

Hi

After installing mate 24.04 i have this weird problem, display scaling returns to 200, i tried changing scaling via mate tweak and terminal with xrandr but nothing works, i didnt have this problem with other ubuntu forks till now, is there any fix for it ? According to my searches its not fixable.

Update: Chatgpt solution, adding xprofile and set it to start on startup didnt work too

Hi, @Vergilangleos and welcome to the Ubuntu MATE Community!

Have a look at top panel menu System > Preferences > Hardware > Display and verify that Scaling auto detect is not selected.

Also pay your attention to Mate Tweak Windows HiDPI setting.

Thanks for your reply, i tested all configuration in tweaks and display but it resets anyway.

And chatgpt failed to fix it too,

This is all the steps i tried and failed so far

try this command in a terminal:

gsettings set org.mate.interface window-scaling-factor 1

and reboot

Keep in mind that the loginscreen also does set the scalingfactor.
( If something is wrong there, your scaling might be set inapproprietly)

Thom, I don't know enough to understand the contents of the following link, but ... could this be applicable or useful for the situation being discussed?

After 2 days i finally gave up, i dont know why this happens but it is what it is. Now i revert back to my old trusty mint.

That patch depends on being able to read '/etc/sysconfig/kernel'.
I don't even have that file on any of my rigs so I do think that patch is about something else
