Download won't verify against hash string

I have tried to download ubuntu-mate-16.04.3-desktop-i386.iso file as a direct download and by way of a torrent file. In both cases the download completed, but I could not verify the .iso with this: SHA256SUM Checksum 4bfe56e59e565088264590ad930130c4e872b1806c34fd6a7202752852961355. Each time the hash calculation produced a different digit string. Those strings weren’t even close.

I cannot find a problem at my end. I’ve downloaded and verified other files without difficulty.

Is there any possibility that the wrong hash string was posted? What else might be wrong?

Thanks for reporting this, is the hash you're getting the following?

ea4b042fcef36fe9ceeaab7165bfb273c9f9b3c44b5cab21e1fe3fc41891afea

Edit: actually, no need to answer the question.
The listed sha256sum is the one for 16.04.2.

@lah7 can you please correct this on the download page?
