what is the prompt? can you type fsck
and let the system fix/clean up?
Idid.
fsck shows bad number in superblock.
It also says to try e2fsck with an alternate superblock.
Did not want to try it without confirmation it will work.
I tried it.
It started checking inodes, then the screen starting scrolling with garbage.
Every day UM is an adventure.
Can you boot off a live usb and then fsck your partition (something like /dev/sda1)?
I did the e2fsck to use an alternative superblock.
Now my system boots o.k.
