Hi all,
a simple user calling for help!
I'm using for some days 'Release 24.04 LTS (Noble Numbat) 64-bit' on my desktop machine with Bios.
When dist-upgrade I'm getting this message I haven't seen before at the very end of installations:
Errors were encountered while processing:
grub-efi-amd64
grub-efi
Is this a wrong installation on grub as I actuallay have Bios and no UEFI? Sorry for the stupid questions, if also they may make no sense...
Thanks in advance!
Oliver

Welcome @pinback74 to the community!
This maybe the result of how you wrote the ISO to your install media; ie. if you didn't use a simple clone of ISO to media; but reformatted it via options, you may have caused the media to become uEFI install only.
When the system is booted; the installer can be tricked into wrongly believing your system is uEFI due to what is detects due to ISO reformat; but a correctly (as documented) write of ISO won't do this.
Your cause maybe something else, but incorrect write of ISO to media is the only means by which I've been able to achieve what you have on old legacy (BIOS) hardware (ie. result of user created problem)
Documentation on ISO writes can be seen at
