Firefox issues - search engine

Hi.

I’ve just installed 16.10 and it looks and feels great. BUT with Firefox I can’t change my search engine. i have tried all i know but no joy. I want www.ixqiuck.com as my default engine but i have to be unhappily satisfied with the default mate.org engine.

how do i go about changing it?

thanks

Hi @witblits, Are you confusing search engine with Home Page? The site https://start.ubuntu-mate.org/ is the default Ubuntu-MATE Home Page and it’s in Preferences under General.

However, default search engine is selected in Preferences under Search. This is the engine used for that little search box and Ubuntu-MATE has none.

He mistyped it in the OP.

It should be:

https://www.ixquick.com/

I thought I recalled this issue in 16.10 and looks like there’s a workaround. I didn’t explore further.
