Sorry but I don’t know how to shorten the title while keeping it meaningful.
I install Firefox Nightly, directly from Mozilla’s website (not PPA) and set it as default browser in system setting. But whenever I open a link from, say, terminal, only a blank new window of Firefox Nightly opens, and the link won’t load (not even show in the address bar). I’m not sure what goes wrong and appreciate if someone can help.
Does Nightly work for you otherwise, when you are not following a link from another app?
Yes, there isi no other problem in using Nightly, only that links won’t open from other software.
Hmm, I’ve used Nightly for a long time without seeing that issue. Not sure of these will help, but

have you set up a .desktop file? There’s no official way to do this, but this post on Night’s blog has one option: https://blog.nightly.mozilla.org/2018/01/22/335/

Do you use the same profile for Nightly as normal Firefox or a different profile?

Mystery solved. I add " -P MyNightlyProfile %u " to the “exec” line and it’s opening normally. The problem should be that I have two profiles (though I only use one for the nightly, the other one has been abandoned but still keep when I distro-hopped). Thank you so much!
