When looking through Synaptic, then clicking on Visit Homepage for a particular app, I get an error that the Firefox profile cannot be found. I am having no other issues with Firefox. This seems to be a fairly new issue as the Visit Homepage has worked in the past.
Synaptic, when clicked from the menu, starts as user root. Then passes the url but firefox does not have a profile for user root hence the popup.
If you start synaptic from a terminal as user jaybo, it gives you some warnings, etc. but the visit homepage works.

Thanks for the explanation. I tested it out my self in terminal with root and no root, and see exactly what you are saying. I just don't remember this issue before when using SPM, I must not remember correctly. Thanks again.
