Hi at all!
When I run:
sudo caja
Error message:
**
Could not inhibit power management: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NameHasNoOwner: Name "org.gnome.SessionManager" does not exist
**
How can I fix that?
Hi at all!

Is this actually a fatal error or is it just an annoying message?
Are you attempting this command under the full MATE desktop, under another desktop environment, or at a plain command line "virtual terminal"?
The command works for me running MATE in full.
MATE full 20.04 LTS.
I'll ask you again:
Because when I run sudo caja
, I get no errors or warnigns, until I for example copy a file. Then it presents me with this warning:
** (caja:1639): WARNING **: 20:27:32.540: Could not inhibit power management: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NameHasNoOwner: Name "org.gnome.SessionManager" does not exist
This should not be a fatal error. It is very difficult to get DBus to work using sudo
, unfortunately.
Strange. The warning message has now disappeared. No idea why.
Therefore, done.
I thought it was just a warning message and not a fatal error.
Nevertheless, it's good to see that the problem has disappeared.
