Geary notifier is not advising of incoming messages

Hi:

With ubuntu 17.10 geary was notifying me of every incoming e-mail.
Now I don’t get any warnings when new e-mails arrive !!
What can be wrong ???

as I said it was working great with ubuntu 17.10 a few days ago .so I think that’s not the problem.
However I will try a reinstall and see what happens.
