GIMP default save folder

Do you have the same that whenever you save an image in GIMP, it proposes you to save it to ~/Documents by default? I would find ~/Pictures more logical.

I’m running 16.04. Just tested, and it always goes to the file that the image came from.

For me, even completely new images go to Documents:

If i open an image it always goes to the original directory when i save or export,
If i open an image and “Save for the Web” it shows a list of the most recent used directories,

If i create a new image it always shows the Documents directory whatever i save or export, except when i “Save for the Web” where it shows a list of the most recent directories i have used.

This; on all the 6 computers i have access with GIMP 2.8.16 on it / all Ubuntu-MATE 16.04 LTS

Yes, Documents can be annoying instead of Pictures, but that’s OK for me as the window shows on the left side my favorite directories :smile:
