How do I add Items to the Panel at the top of the screen? When I right click and select “Add to Panel” and try to add something like a clock it does not add the clock when I click Add after clicking on “Clock” from the menu. I can add programs this way
"You can also add any item in the Applications menu to the panel: right-click the menu item and choose Add this launcher to panel." but not by using the Add to panel option.

I have no trouble adding stuff to the panel.
Please make sure you don’t have a broken installation by using the “Fixes” from the software boutique.
Please mention the version of Ubuntu MATE you are using and the version of the MATE Desktop you are using.

Is your system up to date?
There was a little issue last week with the wheater applet which also affects the clock applet.
Does it only affect the clock?
Can you add “window list” or other stuff?
But at first please check for updates.
