How do I move new icons on the panel to the left of the window list

Hi

I’m using Ubuntu Mate 16.04.
To make the transition from Windows easier for my in-laws I’m trying to make look similar to windows 7.
I moved the panel to the bottom and changed the size to 50.

Next I added launchers to the panel.
But my problem is that the additional launchers are to the right of the open windows list.
If I move them to the left then the window list is resized to zero.
Ho can I move the additional launcher icons next to the mate application icon?

Thanks!

Ok, I can answer myself.
There is a divider that I had to move to the right in order to make more space for the new applications.
Now I can drag them into the left area without any problems.

Hi @torusJKL!

Have you tried just changing panel in MATE Tweak under Interface to Redmond to get old Windows look like this (it's an old pic, but don't think much changed)

You could also enable advanced menu, if you prefer that look and/or then add any other things you need.

One more important thing when you are done with arranging everything to your liking don't forget to save that panel layout in MATE Tweak, just in case something gets wrong/missing later on and you don't have to do it all over again
