I wonder how I can have more consistent hover effects in the upper standard MATE panel. When I hover over the calendar or power button in the upper right corner, a subtle hover effect is noticable. When keeping the cursor on it for a bit longer, tooltips appear.
It seems to me that both hover effects and tooltips are not very consistently applied. Some icons such as the network settings and the bluetooth manager do not have tooltips at all, and most of the small icons on the right side are not responsive, that is, they do not produce any hover effect unlike other application icons. This makes the MATE panel look a bit dated. Is there any possibility to make it look more modern and responsive or is this rather a development issue that will eventually be addressed in future versions?
Beyond these aesthetic issues, I am wondering whether it is possible to have the menus Applications - Places - System open up automatically when hovering over them instead of having to click on them each time. This would improve workflow and accessibility.
