How to make a backup of the newly installed system

Hello everyone, the update date of my system is approaching, now I have UM 16.04.4, and I want to do a clean installation of UM 18.04.

Until there I have no problem.
My question is how to make a back-up copy of the newly installed system, so that in the future (it has never happened to me with UM), I do not have to do the whole installation.

I know what has to be done with Clonezilla and here is the problem I do not know how to do it.

Thanks in advance.

Since installing 16.04, I have been searching for an easy back up system. I have tried Clonezilla, it works, but I agree it is not the simplest. I am currently using an unofficial version of ReDo. It works fine for my hardware and 16.04. Check out this sourceforge thread. ReDo is no longer supported, so I am still searching, with Clonezilla as my backup when ReDo no longer works.

The Clonezilla how to explains the process quite well. It’s really not very hard.

Thanks for the answers, look at the Redo option and the Clonezilla manual.
