How to prevent overwriting of GRUB.CFG (kernel upgrade)

Hi!

I would rather adjust my GRUB.CFG myself according to the
Installation of the new kernel packages.

Everytime when I upgraded to higher kernel version my edited GRUB.CFG was overwritten.

How can I prevent that?

To avoid booting from grub.cfg entries, you can make custom menu entries that only you can modify. You can have these appear in your grub menu along with but before the grub.cfg entries.
