How to stop autoscroll of mate-system-log?

When reading e. g. syslog via mate-system-log, a new message to syslog automatically let the mate-system-log application scroll to the bottom.

While this is a really cool feature when having this passively opened which turns mate-system-log to a live log view, this disrupts reading through the logs. Especially when trying to “read the story of startup”, one always gets lost of the position as soon as syslog gets updated again.

I know from the past (in gnome-system-log) that there was an option to stop this behaviour, but I cannot find such an option in mate-system-log.

Any option except to copy the contents to xed?
