HUD in ubuntu mate 16.04?

Hello, is it possible to install HUD in ubuntu mate 16.04 ?

There is a package only for 16.10 but you can compile it from source . You can compile it yourself .If you compile it from source ,do not use

make install

instead use

checkinstall

This way the package will be created and can easy be removed from synaptic .

And we’ve dropped mate-hud from 16.10 because testing revealed some serious issues we won’t have time to address in time for final :frowning:

We will revisit this feature in 17.04.
