I broke my font rendering, please help [SOLVED]

So, I messed up the things witn fonts as I unknowingly click on some option in Appearance - Fotns Rendering section and now my fonts looks awful, esspecialy Windows title. Is it possible to disable rendering and turn settings back?

It happened to me too. Since I was already having problem with desktop locking up I deleted dconf which eventually fixed the font rendering as well. But I guess it is a rather drastic fix as you will lose all of the customisation, panel layout, custom keyboard shortcuts etc.

try setting your fonts back to subpixel smoothing, slight hinting and RGB subpixel order

I think you lack the skill level to make a truly stupid mistake. After years of practice, I got it down pretty good :slight_smile: Linux is built to be customized. You may start out with customizing fonts and end up doing the whole desktop. Most of us do. Moving on…

I like to try these things first, before posting them, but I am away from my test box. So this is what I found.

sudo apt-get install --reinstall --purge fontconfig fontconfig-config

This command is suppose to set system fonts back to default.

Maybe someone can confirm this command.
