I can't get online

Hi
I’m using a TP Link tl-wn722n wireless adapter. Mate is not detecting the adapter at all.

One suggestion I found online was updating the firmware through the commmand terminal:
sudo aptitude install firmware-atheros

I get the following error message:
E: unable to locate package firmware- atheros

I am accessing this website via Windows 10 dual boot. I can’t get online otherwise.

Thank you

Can you ping anything?

I had the same issue after upgrade. No internet connection. For some reason system was automatically setting up nameserver in /etc/resolv.conf to 127.0.1.1 . After manually changing it to 8.8.8.8 everything was working fine. Unfortunately this fix was not persistent because resolv.conf is generated by Network Manager. For some reason setting up DNSes in Network Manager didn’t help either. The solution was to reconfigure resolvconf (I’m not sure if I needed sudo or not).

dpkg-reconfigure resolvconf

I did as you suggested, tried the fix but it hasn’t made any difference. Still no wifi signal :frowning:
