Is it possible to integrate the application open indication panel into the menu panel, to have only 1 panel on desktop ?
Hi, @Gloster10 and welcome to the Ubuntu MATE Community!
Yes, it is possible. Just right-click on the panel, choose Add to panel...
and select Window list
applet.
Thank you, I get the symbol and " [...", it is also possible to "stretch" the indication to "full name" ?
When I add Window List
to my upper panel I get full names of running app automagically:
Try to make sure that other applets are not locked to the panel and there is some place to extend the list and display windows' names.
I would also reply with my panel, but :
"An error occurred: Sorry, you can't embed media items in a post."
Now I have it : A checkbox were checked "expand", now it is unchecked, and it works
Now I must confess, it is very near by Win-XP, except the panel is not on the bottom.
Since 6 years I use Ubuntu Gnome, but with 24.04.01, Ubuntu Gnome does all for me to be an horror : notification app. ready instead of the application itself, key stealing by Gnome (imagine : double click e-mail reference, nice, I would to response, but it is not possible, get no keyboard focus on the opened tab by firefox.).
But also I must confess, XP is not alive anymore for me, there fore to make it easy for me, is it possible to shift the panel to bottom ?
Yes, that is possible. Right click on the panel, select Properties
, activate Expand
checkbox and select Bottom
panel Orientation
.
BTW, that looks like a little bug to me: one can not change panel orientation until the panel is expanded.
Thank you, Expand Off, Bottom, Expand On, it works.
