After a crash of my desktop I finally got my Lenovo T410 laptop. But when I try to install the Intel HD drivers it stops stating “Distro not supported”.
Is there any (other) way to install the Intel HD drivers?

Have a look here:
Thanks, but that links to the 1.0.7 drivers which have been superseded by the 1.0.8 versions. I’ve downloaded 1.0.8, but that one gives me the error.
Good topic! I’ve a x220 and use it with default drivers from ubuntu mate. Do you recommend change to Intel Drivers? I don’t play games or work with 3D grafics.
Did you use a .deb package?, you can get the 1.0.8 version in .deb form here (32 or 64 bit for Ubuntu):

What error does it give you?, is it the one about dependencies?. Try using "gdebi" to install it rather than the Ubuntu Software Center:
AS A WARNING, PLEASE READ THIS ARTICLE:
I think this only applies to using the installer and not downloading the .deb packge?.
I downloaded the 1.0.8 installer. The .deb installs fine but the installer gives the error under 14.04.2 (distro not supported). Under 14.10 it works fine.
I just would like to know how to install the stack as the installet for LTS (1.0.7) is deprecated.
Hence the link from OMG with this message:
“Packages installed by the Graphics Installer for Ubuntu
14.04 “trusty” may no longer function properly …therefore,
we discourage use of the Graphics Installer on Ubuntu 14.04.”
For the stack release, read here: https://01.org/linuxgraphics/downloads/2014/2014q4-intel-graphics-stack-release
Hope it helps.
