Is there a way to change the location of the downloads folder?

Hello! I was wondering if there is a way that I can change the Downloads folder? I realise that I can create a folder named 'Downloads' elsewhere but it does not get the emblem and is not seen as the default. Can I do this in any way?

Easily done. Just edit ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs to point where you want it.

For me.... I just like to use "uGet". It's a nice Download Manager and I don't have to keep the Browser open until the download is complete. You can download to any location you like. A lot of times I just want put my downloads into a queue so that they can download after-hours.

Thanks! I do like the idea of a download manager but I reckon I'll go with the suggestion to edit the config. <3

Any browser can be redirected to a more or less arbitrary directory.
