This does not work. The document does exist.

libreoffice --writer /home/andy/Documents/Common_Text .odt

It says

/home/andy/Documents/Common_Text does not exist.
/home/andy/Documents/.odt does not exist.

remove the space between “Common_Text” and “.odt”
