Malformed entry?

Baffled here
WHy do I get this after upgrade to 22.04 ?

" Malformed entry 1 in list file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/rvm-ubuntu-smplayer-hirsute.list (Component) "

Got this:

Help !

can you post those lines from that file?

You mean this ?

$ deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/rvm/smplayer/ubuntu/ jammy main

hirsute is 21.04, jammy is 22.04

the link you provided points to a ppa and in the dists/ there is no jammy/

Yes saw that the file is named Hirsute, but the line says Jammy

Would it be safe to rename all the files in /etc/apt/sources.list.d ?
I don't know enough to try that.

the deb-src tells it to go that that ppa and pull the jammy/ src (which does not exist)

If the ppa does not have the source code for jammy/ dist, you have to wait.

Or install binaries.

sudo apt install smplayer worked for me on 22.04, it brought smplayer 21.10.0
