Mate 17.10 brisk menu - make icons bigger

Hello every I was wondering how I can make the icons bigger in the brisk menu? I’ve tried a few things but nothing seems to increase them. Thanks so much

The only settings I saw were in a gsettings schema:

dconf-editor > com > solus-project > brisk menu

You can have a nice dark theme, plus a few other settings, but nothing about icon size.

The README states:

Some items that are currently known to be definite options in the roadmap:

  • Settings UI to control further visual aspects (labels/icons/options)
  • "Pin to" support (Favourites, desktop, docks..)
  • Enhanced vertical panel support (i.e. dash-style menu mode)
  • Improved styling for the window edge + search entry.

More will be added in time as we go along.

Yes already have the dark theme just needed the icons a bit larger in the brisk menu. Thanks anyway for taking the time to look

seems to still has not been added to UM 22.04. I even lookedd into the brisk menu website - no way to change sizes of icons and text.

HI @mickee,

Brisk menu is a GTK application. You probably can edit your GTK theme to increase Brisk font size. In the meantime, try increasing application font size in Control center -> Appearance -> Fonts.

Thanks for replying. I will look into that. I'm fairly new to UM. Is there a GUI app that will allow me to edit GTK themes?

You basically have to edit some CSS theme file. You may want to check Ambiant-MATE theme -- default theme for UM 20.04 -- to have an idea how Brisk menu is themed (search through this file for a Brisk section). About GUI I don't know.
