I have Ubuntu 14.04 LTS installed and I’ve added gnome flashback using metacity for my desktop environment (I’m not a Unity fan). I’m testing UM 16.04 in a separate test partition because Ubuntu 16.04 had some problems with flashback.
Is it advisable to install Mate Desktop on Ubuntu 14.04 with gnome flashback already installed?
I’m guessing really, but if it was me, I would be inclined to remove Gnome Flashback. Mate and Gnome Flashback do share some ancestry and so there could be overlaps/conflicts. But, as I said, i am just guessing.
Thanks @stevecook172001 - I also asked this question on Ubuntu forums. I’m thinking to be safe I might make a persistent Ubuntu 14 LTS USB to test!
