Mate-dock-applet crashes when moving dock items (i386)

Hi Folks,

I am having a problem in 17.10 when moving dock items around. I would like to file a report with the launchpad project, but i don’t know how to use mate-panel-test-applet to generate suitable debug info.

After the second time i received the ‘Reload panel applet’ dialogue box, apport did kick in, and offered to send a bug report, but nothing happened :frowning:

Does any one have any ideas? I would hate to see this bug go unfixed given we’re so close to feature freeze for 18.04

Thanks in advance!

I’ve tried the following command (to pick up the existing applet preferences i set):

mate-panel-test-applets --iid DockAppletFactory::DockApplet --prefs-path /org/mate/panel/objects/object-2/prefs --size large --orient right --display=:0

And I still can’t see a Dock applet! Other simple applets, like clock and eyes, open in their own window just fine. Anyone else have any clues? Maybe I can try IRC? I don’t want to report it on the launchpad page without a) relevant debug info and b) being sure it’s not a duplicate issue

Not really answering your question, but you could also report it upstream on Github.

Same thing occurs on 32-bit daily bionic build, so have reported it to launchpad - in this case apport kicked in :slight_smile:
