My MATE settings manager is NOT running

And HALLOW again Everybody.

  • Again, I am desperate and posting a new topic seams to be the answer ?
    And again I have a "Error Message" witch looks like this:

FIRST OF ALL.
This happened out of the blue ????

  • Well, I did do a system update with this command in the terminal.
    sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
    -Then restarted the PC and used this command
    sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade -f

NOW, I have as the "Error Message" says, a CONFLICT......
And it seams to be with "the Mate Settings" and a "WIN Setting with Gnome Icons" ????

  • It`s terrible and I am slowly dying her :confused:......
    The worst part is that the "System Sound" is sett to a 100% and this relay doesn’t give me comfort.

  • Since I newer use any System Sound......

I am now running: Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS with Kernel 4.4.0-87-generic (x86 - 64).

I have read up on System Settings, Desktop Environments, Kernels and Basics.
I just cant get to "How To get rid of the Setting that overruns the MATE Settings"
SO....
Is there any clever command to use?

  • What shell I Do ????

Im RELAY sorry if Im Insulting “Some-One-Now” but after @mdooley got into this post.

  • EVERY THING is back to normal.
    AND this is chequed with the way to do the update of MATE by MY RESCUER @wolfman x 3 times.
    (Just So You KNOW Wolfman: I did all of the thing`s you told me before I posted this topic.)

  • BUT now its late ! I have consumed more than two fingers of Whisky and Im NOT in a state of UNDERSTANDING THIS.

@ouroumov ones told me that “my belief in magic” was because of the POST-to-grub-time.

  • SO now I am thinking that I am “LOOKED AFTER” by the MATE-CREW ITSELF.

Well, mdooley did no magic in your case SpacePunk. I did, however, tone down the subject line of your post by removing a lot of capitalization. No harm, no foul? And glad to hear that things are back to normal as far as MATE is concerned. Thanks for posting!
