Plan B, lets upgrade your kernel.
Do install this tool :
sudo apt-add-repository -y ppa:cappelikan/ppa
sudo apt update
sudo apt install mainline
Do disable secure boot inside your BIOS (it can prevent your new kernel to boot)
I case something is going wrong, you still have the possibility to boot your previous working kernel from grub.
