Last night I copied some files from a USB thumbdrive to my HP Compaq NX6325 laptop running Ubuntu MATE 15.04 Beta 1. The problem is that it would copy some files and then stop, wait and then copy a few more files and then stop and wait again. It took 10+minutes to copy 5GB of files. I never had this problem when I ran Manajro and Linux Mint on the same laptop. Please help because it is

is your USB stick (thumbdrive) formatted to FAT32?, or does it use NTFS?.
FAT32 would be better!. (Not good for files of more than 4GB in size though!)
