New install will not boot

Hi

I have installed Ubuntu Mate on an Sony Vaio SVP1321C5E in UEFI mode and it will not boot.
The laptop shows the Sony boot screen then just goes to the Sony Vaio Assist Menu asking me to enter BIOS or repair.

Back Story_
Before I did the single install I tested the Install by dual booting with Windows 10 and UEFI didnt boot into the grub menu it just went straight into Windows so I did the following command bcdedit /set “{bootmgr}” path \EFI\ubuntu\grubx64.efi and I could then dual boot._

If I fire up a liveUSB and run efibootmgr I get the following:

BootCurrent: 0006
Timeout: 0 seconds
BootOrder: 0006,0005
Boot0005* Windows Boot Manager HD(1,GPT,318fad7c-f1ce-49be-92f6-1def9bd92342,0x800,0x100000)/File(\EFI\Boot\bootx64.efi)
Boot0006* UEFI: IS917 innostor PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1d,0x0)/USB(1,0)/USB(1,0)/HD(1,MBR,0x4294967227,0x30ba68,0x1280)…BO

Any help would be great

Thanks

Simon

Hello MrHoggsy

The EFI documentation may be of help to you.

There is also BootRepair that will try to automagically repair a boot problem. It has a high success rate.
