Hi I am new to ubuntu mate and really like it due to the similarity with gnome2. I am trying to get a dock to hide correctly but need to enable compositing which from what I understand I need mate tweak for but I can’t get mate tweak to install for me. It’s telling me Package ‘mate-tweak’ has no installation candidate. Any help on this issue would be great or any other suggestion that could help would also be great.
You can try looking at this post, they had a similar problem.
Compositing can also be enabled via System - Preferences - Windows.
What Ubuntu MATE are you running?
I am running 14.10 64bit.
Thank you for the suggestion that worked perfectly.
So if anyone stumbles upon this page with the same problem:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-mate-dev/utopic-mate $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mate-menu mate-tweak
