I wanted to install steam for linux but it somehow doesn’t work… I then googled for a solution and did many console commands, most of them in respect of resolv.conf. I don’t really remember what the initial error was but some googling lead me to touch the resolv.conf. Just giving this information, maybe it’s of value for you guys.
Anyways, after a restart my ethernet does not work anymore. the cable and provider are alright, tried it with my laptop. Also, when I plug in, linux tells me that it has successfully connected to “Auto-Ethernet” so this should be fine I think. Nevertheless, I can’t access any websites in my browser nor can I do updates via console. Seems like the ethernet connection is here but linux somehow can’t use it…? I really am a noob and would appreciate all help!
