No sound after installing Ubuntu Mate 16.04

Hello, After installing Ubuntu mate I notice there is not sound when listening to videos or anything. Anyone have a clue what’s going on…

Right click the speaker icon on the top panel then preferences and check the hardware is the right one selected, and then check the sound levels as it may be muted or on very low!. :smiley:

Already did that the sound level seems to be ok. I really like Mate from what I cam see and I know it’s still in beta but unless I can get these issues working I might have to go back to Ubuntu 14.04 until 16.04 is out. Thanks for the tip

Update, after making a few changes I now have sound not sure what I did to get it correct but hey I’m not complaining. thanks so much

I too didn’t have sound & so I went to the sound settings & clicked on the hardware tab & at the bottom of the page there is a section called “Settings for selected device”. From the dropdown box I chose the Analog Stereo Output & now the sound works just fine. Hope this helps.
