Hello everyone!
First of all I want to thank developers and community for such a great project - Ubuntu Mate spin.
I have one question about Ubuntu-specific MATE settings. Please, tell me. how did you achieve effect of MATE panel, that when you resize panel, status icons (network manager applet, sound preference, etc…) keep unresized? Original MATE resize status icons when panel is resized. How are you doing this? I found it realy cool. Is it “theme” thing or glib2 scheme override?
Thanks, and please keep doing what you do, you do it really well!
Hi streampp
What icon-theme do you use? It could be a bit complicated to found the right way to resize your status icons. Most Icons change their size by self with numix-theme for example. Some Icons are possible to change manually in user/share/icons/yourtheme/status, others are not - for example clementine. I don’t no why. I use Numix Circle Theme and had to change or rename some status icons in /usr/share/icons/Numix/24x24/status and other directories. After that I have monochrome Status-Icons from every App I want to have (excluding Clementine).
I hope I could help you
I use Radiant-MATE icon theme with Ubuntu-mate-14.04.2.
interestingly that if I change “Ubuntu MATE with indicators” in MATE Tweak utility to something else, for example, to “Ubuntu MATE with MATE menu”, icons start to scale/resize…
I’m not sure, but I think the configuration in MateTweak doesn’t have to with the size of the icons in tray. Do all app-icons not resize or just some of it?
Looks like just some of it. Battery, sound volume and network applet icons not resize. Other icons scale when I resize top panel.
Ok, with those Icons, I’ve never had problems. I haven’t configured my panel with mate-tweak, I made it manually. Perhaps it helps, if you delete your status-panel and add a new one manually to the Bar. Right klick on bar and then add to or something (I don’t use English language). Had you restarted your system or logged out?
